Harriett Hargrave’s Quilters Academy – the fifth in a series of excellent skill building course books. The book focuses on creating, designing and piecing your own medallion masterpiece – as an avid collector of antique quilts, the medallion quilt features very high in my list of all time greats.
– this is a simply stunning catalogue by the American Folk Arts Museum of what must be the greatest collection of Red and White quilts. Very little written information but a fantastic coffee table book which I cannot put down! There are over 650 quilts photographed – simply stunning!

Did you know Killhope Lead Mining Museum is home to the oldest surviving North Country example of a traditional strippy quilt. Made by Hannah Peart before she emigrated to America in 1854. A collection of letters document the quilts journey across the water and back!
